For many years inflow control has been successfully applied in expandable sand control completions through the use of screen geometry and components such as nozzles and variations in flow area, this new publication explores the use of the near wellborn rock to design, modify or vary in time the inflow contribution from the reservoir into the wellbore. Plasticity and geomechanical concepts are presented and the application is illustrated with an example indicating how it can be implemented and what would be the elements of inflow variation over time.
